Welcome to Jacksonpollockstudy.com. This site is an informational forum devoted to the study of a painting possibly authored by Jackson Pollock. Here you will find ongoing information relating to this painting and it’s possible origin. Due to the lack of assistance from experts on the subject of Jackson Pollock, and the inability of scholars to communicate openly concerning the prospect of an unattributed Jackson Pollock painting, it has become my responsibility to research this painting without, often requested, assistance. As a visitor I hope you find this site interesting and informative, if you are an admirer of Pollock’s work then this site will provide you with the opportunity to explore a possibly undocumented, unpublished, and never exhibited Jackson Pollock painting.
Pollock’s paintings are imbued with hieroglyphs, scattered letters and number like symbols, some forms of what appear to be automatic writing, and many creature type images such as abstract bird representations. These images can be seen occurring throughout his oeuvre. I feel that these small gestures are in many ways more compelling in this study than some of the larger, more obvious gestures because they reflect an aspect of Pollock’s style that is less obvious, less focused on in publications, and less known or copied by artists who attempt to paint in Pollock’s style.
